Club coaches - Scoutabout !Dear AllWe have been approached by Surrey Scouts and Guides to provide some sporting activity at "Scoutabout" What is Scoutabout? Scoutabout is an extraordinary event that only happens once every three years - 5,000 Scouts and Guides aged between 10 and 14 from all over Surrey participating in a weekend of fun, learning and activities. Where is Surrey Scoutabout? At the South East of England Showground, Ardingly, West Sussex When is it? The weekend of 24th-26th June 2005 This would be a fantastic opportunity to reach our target audience and showcase some of the fantastic work we do. The idea is that we have a 'sports zone' where young people can come and try out a range of sporting activity, from individual agility to team sports. I know that the weekend is just after the Youth Games, but scoutabout would promise to be something a little bit different and get us out there in the community! There are 3 opportunities 10 - 1pm & 2-5pm on the Sat & 10-1pm on the Sun. (You can do as much or as little as you like, you can even camp there overnight!!!) If people are interested in running an activity or would like to put their name forward, or names of club personnel, cscs coaches who might be interested in attending please can you let me know by Friday 8th April 2005. This would also be a good opportunity to promote summer activity, local clubs and remaining Active Surrey activity. This is a great opportunity, please can we all see what we can do Many thanks Suzanna Wood Sport and Education Development Officer Surrey Sports Partnership Email: suzanna.wood@surreycc.gov.uk Tel: 01483 518953 Fax: 01483 518950 |
